After the 1991 release "Time" their album, Nirvana became one of the largest in the world. Worldwide success of this album - only the second studio album recording - has pushed the band in the spotlight as a leading figure in the grunge music explosion that followed, with dozens of bands playing the same hybrid of punk and metal sounds. Not bad for three children of Generation X, who buy their clothes from thrift stores and have even been described as too lazy to use shampoo.
